| PITTSBURGH,
PA, October 12, 2005–Acclamation Systems,
Inc. (ASI), a leading developer of benefits management software,
today announced a partnership with Portland, Oregon-based Qmedtrix,
one of the nation’s foremost medical cost-containment
companies specializing in medical bill review solutions and
services. Using integrated technology, the two companies will
be able to provide clients with the security and convenience
of straight-through processing of system information, significantly
reducing redundancy and manual errors.
ASI’s product, LuminX™, is a fully integrated suite of applications
for employee benefits management, including a robust, rules-based
claim processing engine, real-time online enrollment and eligibility
maintenance, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. The
software is currently used by more than 70 of the world’s
largest insurance carriers, third party administrators and
self-administered organizations. As a market leader, ASI has
built an EDI bridge to interface seamlessly with add-on software.
Qmedtrix offers its negotiation product, Qmedworx®, to
all ASI clients for their medical facility claims that are
out-of-network. The business partner agreement allows Qmedtrix
to use the existing ASI EDI bridge to obtain claims from ASI
clients using LuminX. This reduces the need for manual sorting
and sending of out-of-network claims – such as inpatient
and outpatient facility fees, emergency room visits, implants
and ambulance costs – saving time and money by automating
the process and ensuring that out-of-network claims are not
missed. It also grants ASI’s clients access to Qmedtrix’s
out-of-network negotiation services, resulting in re-priced
claims that are fair and reasonable and avoids the balance
billing of patients.
Qmedworx is designed to supplement existing secondary or
wrap networks to maximize the opportunity for savings. The
service compares subscriber patient claims with like claims
paid in the same geographic area to determine an appropriate
reimbursement level for the subscriber patient claim.
“Working together with ASI is a natural partnership.
The combined benefit for our mutual clients, those who take
advantage of the EDI bridge that integrates Qmedworx and LuminX,
is very significant. Savings using Qmedworx negotiation services
are realized by identifying inaccuracies and abuses in medical
claims and range from 25 to 60 percent, with 60 percent of
claims successfully negotiated. We chose to partner with ASI
based on their reputation as a company, the technology they
are able to offer and the people from both companies who share
a vision for enhanced client service,” said Merrit Quarum,
CEO and Chairman, Qmedtrix.
“This agreement allows us to further enhance our service
solution, giving our clients integrated access to a leading
medical cost-containment solution and the resulting negotiation
and bill review benefits available through our partnership
with Qmedtrix. ASI clients can now benefit from the additional
relationships, agreements and experience Qmedtrix provides,
and the technology bridge from LuminX ensures a seamless data
exchange between the systems,” said Jim Senge, CEO,
Acclamation Systems, Inc.
