PORTLAND,
April 9, 2004–Qmedtrix, one of the nation’s
leading companies specializing in health care cost-containment
systems and services, has joined two national organizations
dedicated to reforming the health care system in the United
States.
The National
Business Group on Health (NBGH) recently welcomed Qmedtrix
to its national membership, consisting of large employers
dedicated to finding innovative and forward-thinking solutions
to the nation's most important health issues. NBGH provides
its members the opportunity to exchange ideas and share best
practices with senior benefits professionals from leading
corporations. NBGH members include some of the largest employers
and most profitable companies in the world, such as Wal-Mart,
ExxonMobil and Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Helen Darling, NBGH president, said, “As health care
and its management become ever more complicated and challenging,
it is all the more important to have leading-edge companies
work together to identify best practices and solutions for
sharing as well as help develop the next generation of tools
and technologies. We are very pleased to have a visionary
company like Qmedtrix join the National Business Group on
Health, the nation's premier organization for large employers
who want the most effective practices to improve the health
and productivity of all of their employees.”
Qmedtrix also joined the Center
for Health Transformation (CHT), a group dedicated to
using technology and other market-proven tools to improve
health care across the nation in the 21st century. CHT’s
purpose is to raise awareness about the technology and developments
that can save lives, and improve the quality of health care
services.
The center is dedicated to identifying solutions to better
health outcomes at lower cost and sharing them with the widest
possible range of individuals, purchasers, providers and government
decision makers. CHT members include Eli Lilly, the American
Diabetes Association, PricewaterhouseCoopers and the American
Health Care Association, among others.
"Qmedtrix’s membership in these premier health
care organizations reinforces the company’s commitment
to health care reform," said Dr. Merrit Quarum, CEO and
president.
“Our membership in these national coalitions supports
our goal to promote the highest standard of care for all patients,”
Dr. Quarum said. “At Qmedtrix, we accomplish this goal
by determining fair compensation for providers and facilities
and by eliminating fraud, abuse and inaccurate charges. Partnering
with NBGH and CHT provides Qmedtrix an outlet for sharing
information about the importance of using cost-containment
solutions to reduce inflated charges and improve health care
services nationwide.”
