| PORTLAND,
May 14, 2004–The Portland Business Alliance
honored Qmedtrix as one of the top area businesses that have
significantly contributed to the region’s growth during
the previous year.
Qmedtrix placed third in the Portland Business Alliance’s
annual ranking of the area’s Top 10 Growth companies.
All 10 winners were honored at the Portland Business Alliance
annual membership meeting held at the Oregon Convention Center
on May 11. Dr. Merrit Quarum, CEO and president, received
the award for Qmedtrix. The Top 10 Growth award winners were
featured in the May edition of Oregon Business magazine.
The Top 10 Growth companies ranking was based on revenue/sales
growth, employment growth and years in business.
From 2002 to 2003, Qmedtrix posted an 89 percent revenue
increase and a 99 percent increase in its staff.
“We’re truly honored to be recognized among the
top growth companies in the region,” said Dr. Quarum,
a Portland native who earned academic degrees from Reed College
and the Oregon Health and Science University. “Portland’s
rich talent pool has yielded a competent, committed and dynamic
group of individuals that make up the Qmedtrix team. Because
of the unique abilities, dedication and hard work of our staff,
Qmedtrix is able to provide innovative health care cost-containment
solutions nationwide.”
The Portland Business Alliance award is the latest in a string
of recognitions that Qmedtrix has received for its phenomenal
growth in 2003. The Business Journal named Qmedtrix
to its lists of 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies and
Oregon’s Top 50 Technology and Software Companies. Qmedtrix
also was named Growth Company of the Year by the Oregon Entrepreneurs
