| PORTLAND,
September 22, 2004–Qmedtrix, the Portland-based
decision software firm for medical bill review services nationwide,
received a Customer Application of the Year award from Borland
Software Corporation on September 12, at BorCon 2004.
The annual Borland Conference, held this year in San Jose,
Calif., September 11-15, brought together software industry
leaders to discuss the latest technology and tools for accelerating
application lifecycles. Awards were made in the Customer Application,
Partner Solution and Technology Partners categories, based
on the success of the products that integrated Borland software
in the development process.
“We are very honored to receive this prestigious award
from Borland based on the success of BillChek®, as executed
on the Q-worx™ platform, and based on Qmedtrix employees’
commitment to excellence,” said Merrit Quarum, CEO and
chairman of the board for Qmedtrix.
“BillChek is an innovative bill review application
that has become the nationwide total out-of-network solution
for medical bills,” said Quarum. “Borland’s
Delphi was employed in the development of the suite of software
products comprising BillChek’s multi-tiered architecture.”
Qmedtrix’s development team—which includes product
development, systems development and quality assurance experts—continuously
researches, codes and tests to improve the unique rules engine
and proprietary database that support its services and systems.
Awards in the Customer Application category were determined
based on the success of implementation, benefits provided
by the company’s products, return on investment (ROI)
and potential for future growth. In 2003, the ROI for Qmedtrix’s
customers was $270 million in savings identified after validation
and correction of medical bills.
“This award is a reflection of the Product Development
Team’s hard work, excellent results and team effort,”
said John Pierce, assistant vice president, Information Systems.
“Success is a result of clearly defined specifications,
precise development, rigorous quality assurance and a commitment
to customer service.”
