PORTLAND,
September 30, 2003–Qmedtrix has been
named Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum’s (OEF) Growth Stage
Company of the Year. Qmedtrix was chosen by the OEF review
panel out of a field of 70 companies in its category from
Oregon and Southern Washington.
In addition to Qmedtrix’s Mature Company win, awards
were presented at the OEF’s 10th Annual Event to Chockstone,
Development Stage Company of the Year; Kryptiq, Working Capital
Company of the Year; and Entrepreneur of the Year Mark Wattles,
CEO of Hollywood Entertainment Corporation.
“It was an enormous honor to be chosen along with these
other innovative companies,” said Qmedtrix President/CEO
Merrit Quarum, M.D. “The caliber of the companies was
incredibly impressive.”
The review panel made its decisions based on a number of
factors. One factor in choosing Qmedtrix was that we offer
a service that is critical to the nation. We review Workers’
Compensation claims for miscoding and overcharging. Eliminating
abusive billing practices and bringing health care charges
into line with actual costs is an issue that impacts everyone’s
life. If we can stop escalating health charges, we can help
make health care more affordable for all.”
According to Dr. Quarum, staffing was another key ingredient
in the judges’ decision. “We have been fortunate
in gathering together an outstanding team that is truly on
a quest to benefit the nation through health care reform,”
he said.
“At this moment in our company’s history, we
have great momentum,” said Dr. Quarum. “We are
attracting the highest quality employees at an exponential
rate. Now, our resellers are looking at us as something more
than a vendor; instead, they are looking at us as a strategic
partner. We have very strong product recognition, and a reputation
in the industry as experts who can solve problems. We are
setting legal precedents that are impacting the way state
Workers’ Compensation boards respond to abuse. With
that kind of momentum behind us, there is no reason we shouldn’t
have a geometric growth pattern to our success.”
We are proud to be an Oregon-based company that is making
a positive impact on the nation’s health care system.”
