CEO's Message
Our health care system has become unsustainable and everyone from the Fortune 500 companies to the individual taxpayer is burdened with unaffordable health care costs and skyrocketing insurance premiums. Although the newly passed health care reform measures have brought to light the important topics of access to quality care, insurance coverage, medical liability and other issues, health care costs have become the primary problem now that we have to actually pay for that care.
In order to manage health care costs, we have to understand them. What is the true cost of providing health care? What are we being billed for? What are others paying for the same care? There is no system for price transparency, no relationship between billed charges and cost, nor are there any standard billing rules or systems in place. If there is no understanding of costs, how can we, as a society, do anything to reduce them?
Our goal is to continue setting the standard for fair and reasonable reimbursement for medical services, while promoting the best possible care for patients. Now in our second decade, Qmedtrix’s impact on the national health care scene grows daily. Our medical, data and legal expertise help businesses and individuals deal with excessive medical charges. Although we are best known for our track record in the workers’ compensation market, Qmedtrix also offers our nationwide services to all areas of health care—including group health and auto medical insurance—through the Qmedworx negotiation service, and also to individuals through our web-based Uninsured Bill Review (UBR) service.
Now is the time for businesses and individuals to educate themselves and be persistent in knowing what they’re paying for. Together, we can change the health care industry.
